Marvelous Marvin is the son of former deejay Marvin Boone, Sr., a man who couldn’t stand the new music called rock ‘n’ roll back in 1955 so he moved into news. While working at Cleveland’s WHK, he introduced his son to Don Imus and others who he hoped would talk him out of a radio career. But the effort didn’t work.
Once Marvin decided that radio was what he wanted to do, he attended the Ohio School of Broadcasting in Cleveland which eventually led him to Tampa Bay, where he worked for WGUL, Magic 96 WMGG. WHBO and WYUU U92. In 2000, Marvin began spinning requests mid-days at WRBQ Q105. During his eight years behind the mike, Marvin was rated in the Top Five with the Baby Boomer listener…with several Arbitron surveys rating him Number One. Marvin officially joined Hits 106 as our new morning man on Monday, June 30th, 2009… where he’s been the host of The Marvelous Marvin Morning Show, weekdays from 6 AM until 10 AM.
